Kindergarten Sight Words

Kindergarten words are the most frequently used words in the English language. This Kindergarten worksheet includes the 56 sight words in alphabetical order.

Sight words, often also called high frequency sight words, are commonly used words that young children are encouraged to memorize as a whole by sight, so that they can automatically recognize these words in print without having to use any strategies to decode.  These words are the building blocks for reading and speech for young students.

These are the words like ‘good’, ‘saw’, ‘at’, ‘yes’, and so on. They are usually small, and easily recognized, and the spelling of these words is not always straightforward in regard to how they sound.

Have your children practice reading and memorizing these sight words to help them on their literacy journey. After your student has mastered the Kindergarten sight words, have them move onto the next levels.

All of the worksheets on AcademyWorksheets.com are free and printable. Leave a comment and let us know how your student is doing with the worksheets.
