Shape tracing worksheets are important for young children to help with their fine motor skills. We have all the shape sheets that are fun, free and printable.

Wondering where to begin with shapes? Begin with the basic shapes.

Circle: A simple, round shape that’s easy to recognize.

Square: A four-sided shape with all sides equal and all angles right.

Triangle: A three-sided shape.

Rectangle: A four-sided shape with opposite sides equal and all angles right.

Once your child has mastered the basic shapes, there are a number of  additional fun shapes and worksheets for your child.

Heart: A shape with a rounded top and a pointed bottom.

Star: A shape with pointed corners.

Pentagon: A five-sided shape.

Benefits of Tracing Shapes:

  • Hands-on activities are essential. Tracing allows children to explore shapes.
  • Relate shapes to real-world objects to make learning more meaningful. For example, a pizza is round (circle), a door is rectangular, and a gift box is frequently a square.
  • Encourage creativity. Let children draw, color, and create their own shapes.

By  incorporating fun, engaging activities, you can help your child develop a strong foundation in shape recognition.
