Learn Left and Right
Knowing your left from your right is one of the most important skills your children will learn. Why is it important? And what makes it an important?

Fun Teaching Strategies for Left and Right
Anchor it to Something Personal:
- The “L” Hand: This is a classic for a reason! Have the learner make an “L” shape with their thumb and index finger on both hands. The hand that forms a correct “L” is usually the left hand (for most people). Emphasize this connection and encourage them to check their “L” hand when unsure.
Visual Aids and Repetition:
- Labeling: Label shoes, gloves and other objects.
- Color-Coding: Use different colored stickers on hands or shoes.
- Consistent Language: Use “left” and “right” frequently throughout the day when giving directions or instructions.
